Job description
As the Senior valve engineer you will provide technical oversight of the contract(s), including the surveillance of technical documentations, the management and the resolution of open-points and changes related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification. You will also be responsible for keeping the contract at the configuration compliant with the project progress.
In order to do this, you will work closely with the relevant disciplines in EPR-E and Edvance France but also within the client and the suppliers to ensure the technical requirements are met.
Typical activities include, but are not limited to:
· Leading technical meetings, resolving complex technical matters, whilst providing guidance and support to others in the team related to design and qualification,
· Surveillance of technical documentation from contractor
· Support the client to answer supplier requests such as request for information (RFI’s), Interface Queries (IQs), Exemption Request (ERs) or Non-conformances (NCR).
· Anticipate and raise alerts on technical open points,
· Control and Management of the configuration of the contract, design change and liaise with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems
· Review and approval of contract amendments (CTS)
· Liaise with RD and client management teams to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery.
· Reporting of KPIs to the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL)
· Ensure qualification activities are progressing accordingly to the contract progress and site needs.
Help to upskill other members of the team, including other less experienced Technical Leads (TLs)
Promote an adequate Nuclear Safety culture
Profile
To be considered the following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:
· Engineering degree on mechanical
· Strong knowledge and experience on valves (valve expertise)
· Technical background on mechanical, piping, layout
· Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design
· Knowledge and experienced in Nuclear Mechanical Equipment Design, Manufacture and Operations
· Understanding of Equipment interfaces (pipework, supports, fluids, safety case, systems engineering, civil, layout) and qualification
· Excellent communication and people engagement skills
· Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Languages (level)
· English fluent (required)
· French – bonus
