Due to our ongoing and rapid growth, we are looking to recruit a Project Planner ideally to be based at Sizewell B in Suffolk.
The Junior Planner will be responsible for supporting the production of integrated master project schedules and associated artefacts as directed by a Project Controls Manager or more senior Planner. These outputs will be one of the core project controls outputs in support of project management and customer/ business reporting requirements, and the role is responsible for ensuring that all outputs produced that feed into this are suitable and timely.
This role is expected to produce outputs within the planning sub-discipline but to also engage with other sub-discipline leads to ensure outputs are integrated and aligned. Junior Planners are expected to work under a good amount of oversight and guidance from a Project Controls Manager/ senior Planner, and will take an active interest in their improvement and development.
Key activities will include:
Support the production of schedules for projects/ a project and assuring the outputs of other functions before integrating these back into the master programme.
Engage in the planning process on projects through support to the project team during WBS and schedule production.
Support schedule reporting and outputs to the business and customer including Earned Value Management (EVM), resource analysis, schedule performance and milestone reporting.

Profile
To be considered, the Junior Planner is expected to hold the following:
- APM Associate Membership
- APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)
- APMG Project Planning & Controls (PPC) Foundation
- Primavera P6 Fundamentals
It is desirable they hold, or aim to gain within 2 years, the following:
- APMG Project Planning & Controls (PPC) Practitioner
- ECITB Planning & Scheduling Practice (or other equivalent Planning qualification)
Person Specification:
An entrant into the Junior Planner role would be someone who has spent a few years of experience in a project environment and has spent some time undertaking planning activities within Primavera P6, understanding the principles. They have been a part of the full planning process, supporting more senior staff in developing planning artefacts such as the WBS. They are able to engage with all functions within the business to explain planning principles and extract good quality data from them to input into programmes.
An experienced Junior Planner role is likely someone who has spent 1-2 years in a dedicated planning role and has held responsibility for the production and maintenance of a project or projects. They must be adept users of scheduling software, with a demonstrated ability to work across teams to challenge and assure schedule inputs and can explain to individuals the benefits of good scheduling practice.
