Job description
The JDO is managed by HPC, Licensee and Manager of the HPC Project. It is made up of staff from:
- HPC, managing the teams and owning the processes,
- EPR-E, EDVANCE and CNEPE who study and approve design changes as well as non-conformances within their scope of delegated authority,
- Contractors who previously delivered the detailed design.
Within this organization the JDO Electrical Operational lead reports to the JDO Electrical Discipline lead (who also represents locally the Responsible Designer). The position is located on Hinkley Point C construction site.
The JDO Electrical team is the local Point of Contact for the management of topics related to electrical parts in the scope of works of the Responsible Designer for both BNI and CI/BoP (cable tray, cables, cabinets, sensors, etc.). Those topics relate to field events such as clarification request, adaptation requests, change request, non-conformance, etc.
The JDO Electrical team is an integrated team, meaning that it’s made of Designer, Client and Contractor resources.
In this context the Operational lead is responsible for:
- Coordinating the site request answers in their scope of delegated authority,
- Coordinating the resolution of these requests with staff in the back-offices when required,
- Looking over the team’s performance in the frames defined by EPR-E and the Client
- Challenging requests and any other topics from the contractors and the Client from RD perspective,
- Supporting other Team members with complex and/or long-lasting technical issues,
- Supporting other Team members on their day-to-day work,
- Coordinating the checks/Checking other Team members production from technical point of view,
- Approving other Team members production,
- Approving requests in the dedicated tool on behalf of the Client with a signed delegation,
- Creating/Improving internal processes,
- Being the JDO Discipline Lead back-up,
- Being recognised as one of JDO Electrical team representant by JDO external stakeholders,
- Being actively part of the newcomer path by creating new content and presenting some,
- Looking over the continuity and the consistency of the design modified by the JDO teams.
Profile
• Science, mechanical engineering degree
• 10 years minimum in specification, design, procurement and installation of electrical components.
• Field experience
• Knowledge of RCC-E code
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D design software
• Experience working in a multicultural environment
• Knowledge of the HPC project or previous EPR and associated studies/doctrine is a real asset
• Experience in the management of transverse technical and contractual topics
• Excellent Interpersonal skills, conscientiousness, organisation, writing ability.
• Good organizational, writing and oral expression skills in English are essential for the realization of the activities of document production, steering and interfaces with the various correspondents.
• Ability to prioritise, to manage numerous interfaces, to question and understand the imperatives of other downstream disciplines. Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
• Experience in big projects/industries and ability to understand complex organisations
