Job description

Within EDF EPR Engineering UK, the Commissioning group constitutes the centre of expertise for the following areas:

·         Commissioning Engineering:

o    Development of the commissioning referential,

o    Design of the commissioning programs,

o    Technical support to site during the test phases,

o    Analysis of tests and validation of results, particularly with regard to functional requirements.

·         Support for the execution of on-site tests through the Commissioning Engineering Team (CET)

 

 

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the production of the commissioning documentation associated within the Electrical scope of the HPC Nuclear Island project.

He will support the wider EPR-E commissioning team regarding all questions in interface with Electrical commissioning discipline.

 

The key duties, responsibilities and deliverables of the Electrical Commissioning Engineer are as follows:

 

·         Production of the commissioning documentation for the electrical distribution systems spanning from 10KV AC to 220VDC included batteries, inverter, rectifier, and Emergency Diesel generator

·         Support and skill development of the engineers in the Electrical team,

·         Technical review of part of the documentation produced by the engineers in the Electrical team,

·         Support for digital transformation efforts within the group,

·         Support for knowledge/expertise transfer efforts within the group.

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will also support NNB on all subjects related to the testing of Electrical systems for which NNB may request support from EPR-E during the test preparation phase.

As such, the Electrical Commissioning Engineer will lead the activities associated with such support, interfacing with:

·         the system design teams in charge of NI design

·         the other commissioning leaders (HVAC, Fluid systems, I&C)

·         contracts and equipment teams

·         configuration team

·         installation/construction teams

Profile

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Degree qualified Engineer (in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline)
First successful experience in Nuclear Engineering (2/5 years’ experience)
Knowledge of EPR design, UK context is a plus
Experience in multi-disciplinary teams on large projects
Knowledge of System Engineering principles
 

Desirable qualifications, experience and skills:

Able to take a strategic view with good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels,
Motivated and disciplined with an ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work across multiple workstreams,
Able to write and review technical documents which present complex arguments clearly,
Able to take a proactive approach to management and resolution of technical topics,
Strong organisational and communication skills, able to liaise between multiple stakeholders and maintain a clear overview for specific topics
 

Languages (level)

·    English fluent (minimum B2)

·    French is a plus
