Job description
Objectives: Support the quality process to ensure the high level of quality standards are maintained and in accordance with the relevant requirements
Detailed key responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance to the Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to assure continuing compliance to ISO 9001 standards.
• Liaise with internal and external customers on Quality concerns.
• Coordinate monthly review and reporting of progress against the annual quality improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance to the Contract Quality Assurance Plan / General Quality Assurance Specifications / Supplier Quality Plan / Project Quality Management Plan.
• Undertake project work in support of quality department, on topics such as: problem solving, investigation reporting, audit and governance programmes etc.
• Prepare/review/approve/maintain project quality documentation such as: Quality Plan/Manual, Technical Procedure writing (NDT, Dimensional, Cleanliness), ITP, process procedures and instruction writing.
• Raising internal/external NCRs, formal Technical queries (RFIs) and Field Change Requests where ever required.
• Development, support, and maintenance of the project quality deliverables in line with project schedules. (These include LTQR / QRC / Review and update of records following client comments).
• Act as in-house council to provide guidance and solutions to internal functions on Quality matters.
• Ensure compliance to customer and product specifications through rigorous inspections – regular Client liaison.
• Monitor and internally audit Goods in, welding, calibrated equipment & inspection activities.
• Monitor sub-contractor quality activities on-site.
• Approving incoming materials by confirming specifications; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials and reviewing material certification and ensuring vigilance to CFSI requirements / Goods in/Out Procedure.
• Approving in-process production by confirming specifications; ensuring correct documentation is distributed and communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
• Approving finished products by confirming specifications; occasionally conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for rework; confirming rework.
• Reviewing inspection records tracking; summarizing rework and waste & interdepartmental co-ordination.
• Review and compile all Life Time Quality Records required per product.
• Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Accomplishing quality and organising jobs by completing related results as needed
• Managing non-conformities and help to address them, managing corrective and preventative actions and organising their implementation.
• Exchanging with the internal/client quality inspector
• Compilation of final manufacturing records and LTQRs
• Assist the workshop/Onsite implementation of Lean and 6Sigma activities
Profile
• Recognised Engineering Qualification ONC/BTEC/C&G/HNC/HND (or higher required)
• Multi discipline non-destructive testing training
• Visual Weld Inspection - Welding Institute Course
• Responsible welding co-ordinator (desirable)
• NVQ Level 3 Leadership & Management (desirable)
• ISO:9001:2015 Internal Auditor
• ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor
• CCCNSG / HS&E MAPS - Managers and Professionals Test (required)
• Lean or Six Sigma (desirable)
• HPC Site Induction (desirable)
• Chartered Quality status
• Familiar with pre heat and post weld heat treat methods.
• Understanding of the nuclear steam supply system.
• Knowledge of Quality tools and systems e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, EFQA etc.
• Proven relevant experience as a QA Engineer
• A good understanding of FIDIC and or NEC3 contracts.
• A good working knowledge of Project Management protocols and standards.
• Experience of managing multiple projects at one time at differing stages
• Experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures.
• Lead auditor experience
• Experience leading investigations / problem solving
• High level of competence in MS Office products
• Sound welding knowledge
• Knowledge in fabrication
• Knowledge in installations
• Previous experience of working in a multinational team would be beneficial
• Previous experience in a highly regulated industry advantageous
• Knowledge of ISO 14000 and ISO 45001
