Job description

What are we hiring for?

We are seeking a JDO Layout Cad Deputy to join our team in HPC 

What will you be doing?

Within this position you will be responsible for:
- Support the Layout CAD Team Lead:
o Checking the quality relative to the modification done by CAD Team on JDO-DT scope.
o Assigning activities to Layout CAD Team members (depending on the autonomy of the Designer, should be necessary to give a clear definition, a level of priority and a deadline)
o Managing and arbitrating workload
o Checking the activities performed by the CAD Designer (3D, redlines, deliverables)
o Validation of E3D modifications in validated databases.
o Improving CAD Team competences / skills.
- Modifying the E3D and TEKLA 3D-Model of the two plants, each time a change from site has a significant impact on the design (site compliant strategy), following the rules of modelling and checking consistency of the change. The modelling will be done on: Components and equipment, Civil structure, Steelwork, Pipework, HVAC ducts and components, Instrumentation, Electrical cable trays, boxes and cabinets, Supports;
- Carrying out detailed 2D and 3D modelling activities to support all disciplines to answer to site queries;
- Answering or contributing to answer to site requests by gathering all needed inputs, providing technical analysis and justification, by liaising with the engineering back-offices if needed and by evaluating the impacts of the request on the different disciplines;
- Contributing to the production of any technical document requested to support the construction (ex: Equipment Location Book, Layout Dummy Bedplate Drawing, and Review of Anchorages for Equipment…).
- Support the improvement of 3D tools through generation of dedicated programs/macros that can support the team efficiency by directly working on their development or supporting together with CAD Team Lead other CAD team members willing to develop them.

Acting under delegation of the JDO Layout Disciplines Lead, the JDO Layout CAD Deputy may be responsible for:
- Making sure that methods, referential, tools, process and delegated authority from the back-office teams are complied with.
- Produce in quality and quantity the necessary deliverables to support the project.
- Building strong relations with the different Back-Offices in Bristol/Paris.
- Interview of Layout CAD team members

The JDO Layout CAD Deputy reports to the Layout CAD Team Lead achievements, progresses and difficulties regarding his activities and raises alerts on any aspects of the design when identified.

Profile

What are we looking for?

Ideal experience for this position would include:
• Science, Master engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design and/or Layout topics in the following disciplines: civil work, layout, piping, HVAC, Elec.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of layout rules for nuclear project.
• Knowledge of the general operation of nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects (in particular, aspects relating to flooding, fire, radiological protection, etc.).
• Good knowledge 3D design software (E3D, PDMS, TEKLA and Navisworks);
• Experience working in a multicultural environment
• Knowledge of the HPC project and associated studies/doctrine is a real asset.

Languages (level)
• English fluent,
• French is a bonus.
