Job description
As a computational engineer, you will work on tasks related to neutron-physical core and fuel assembly design. The focus is on applications for the Eastern European market.
Your work includes the qualification of new types of fuel assemblies, the proof of safe and economic operation of light water reactors of different types as well as the implementation of new calculational codes and design methods.
After a thorough familiarization with the topics, your work will include the following activities:
- Execution of neutron-physical design calculations for reactor cycles
- Preparation of quality-assured approval documents for nuclear operators and their supervisory authorities
- Contribution to the development of methods and codes in the field of neutron-physical core and fuel assembly design
- Conducting studies in the fields of reactor operation, validation of codes, and fuel assembly development
- Representing the field to customers, authorities, and experts

Profile
- University degree (Bachelor) in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or comparable qualifications
- First professional experience (of advantage)
- Knowledge of reactor physics and fuel assembly technology
- Interest in working with complex technical-scientific calculational codes
- Linux skills (of advantage)
- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages
- Good English skills (level B2)
- Good knowledge of German or willingness to to acquire knowledge at B1 level within the next few years
- Willingness for occasional international business trips
