Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Lead role in Bristol to support the Access equipment contracts for HPC scope. Support may also be required to SZC.

This is a valuable and technically stimulating opportunity to work within EPR-E UK to support HPC which is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As part of the Responsible Designer (RD), EPR-E deliver the design of some of the Nuclear Island (NI) buildings, contracts and studies for HPC in the years to come.

As the Technical Lead you will provide technical oversight of the contract(s), including the surveillance of technical documentations, the management and the resolution of open-points and changes related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification. You will also be responsible for keeping the contract and the configuration compliant with the project progress.

As a Technical Lead, you will:

In order to do this, you will work closely with the relevant disciplines in EPR-E and Edvance France but also within the client and the suppliers to ensure the technical requirements are met.

Typical TL activities include, but are not limited to:

·       Technical surveillance and resolution of issues/queries

·       Review of contractor deliverables and design where necessary

·       Review of contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs)

·       Review of non-conformances, open points and design changes

·       Management of the evolution of the contract and design changes

Technical assessment of the tenders in the aspects of design, qualification and manufacturing
·       Leading technical meetings

·       Liaise within the Responsible Designer and client management teams to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery.

·       Liaise with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems

Help to upskill other members of the team, including other less experienced TLs
·       Reporting of KPI’s to the CEL (Contract Engineering Lead)

·       Ensure qualification activities are progressing accordingly to the contract progress and site needs.

Profile

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

·       Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design

·       Knowledge and experience in Nuclear Mechanical Equipment Design, Manufacture and Operations

·       Understanding of equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, civil interfaces)

·       Strong communication skills

·       IT literate

·       Masters or equivalent in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline

 

Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills.

·       French speaking

·       Experience using change-management, commercial and deliverable management systems (UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter)

·       Contract management and documentary surveillance

 

Languages (level)

·       English fluent (required)

·       French – bonus
