Job description

The role of Production Manager is to plan, co-ordinate and execute all manufacturing activities within the workshop. The production manager will have an interface with multiple departments (Production, controls, QHSE etc.) to ensure the successful delivery of the manufactured product. This will range from the creation of the front-end documentation, the physical manufacturing, to the finalisation and closure of the quality documentation to enable on time delivery.

The Production Manager will be responsible for the following:

·       Ensure front end documentation is created and approved prior to manufacturing activities taking place (ITPs, Fabrication drawings, Procedures etc.)

·       Co-ordinate all cross-department activities i.e. the compilation of quality records

·       Review and comment on the production schedule to ensure it is maintained with a realistic view of delivery date.

·       Mitigate delays in the schedule using know-how, experience and efficiency techniques (e.g. lean manufacturing)

·       Report to the manufacturing and operations manager any difficulties in achieving the delivery dates. And propose suitable solutions.

·       Lead the workshop supervisors to ensure work is prioritised to meet the workshops master schedule and customer needs.

·       Provide technical advice and guidance to the workshop supervisors/workshop team to ensure on time delivery.

·       Ensure the products meet the required quality standard.

·       Ensure the workshop team are fully complaint to the HSE policies, procedures and instructions.

·       Lead by example with regards to demonstrating a commitment to Nuclear safety and QHSE.

Profile

To be considered the following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:

·       Experienced workshop/production manager

·       Knowledge of welding, fabrication and inspection techniques

·       Computer literate (MS word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, etc.)

·       Ex-Welder, Fabricator

·       Extensive knowledge of automated welding systems
