Job description

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.

For the Sizewell C Nuclear Services Agreement (NSA) Project Directorate a position of Schedule Manager is open.
On behalf of the NSA Project Directorate team, The Project Control office is responsible for monitoring cost, timely delivery and project execution in accordance and for the measurement of overall performance indicators.

Within a project team, the NSA Schedule Manager is in charge of the construction and updating of the project schedule complete.
They will coordinate the planners to ensure the consistency of the different schedules. They will ensure that the project planning thus constructed allows effective monitoring of internal interfaces (between engineering, procurement, construction and testing) and external interfaces with different partners (suppliers, customers for example).
The perspective of the planning manager is both that of the daily life and the strategy of the project.
Measuring and analysing the performance of the project in real time, it guides the Project Management, provides decision-making support in order to meet deadlines.

The Schedule Manager is also in charge of implementing the strategic vision of the project in the planning.
The NSA Schedule Manager is responsible for the planning processes implemented within the project. They will question systematically, adapt their relevance, adapt them as necessary with the actors concerned and verify that they follow the rules of the art in the matter.

Finally, they will be in charge of managing and coordinating the planning team.

Under the supervision of Project Control Manager, the NSA Schedule Manager will:

  • Assures structuring of the project planning (guarantor of the creation processes, integration of schedules, update) then management by deadlines:
  • Establish if not existing, update and ensure the application of the schedule management plan for the project.
  • Manage the production and full integration of contributor schedules to project completion schedules and guarantee the quality of produced schedules
  • Set up performance measurement indicators for the project and draw up an analysis of the situation of the project


Manages autonomously communication around deadline issues in the project:

  • Establish frequently reference schedules
  • Establish a system of instances allowing the coordination of actors, the management of interfaces, the escalation information on the project schedule and clarification of the trade-offs or alternatives to be conducted

Profile

To be considered, the following qualifications, skills and experience are essential:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or management
  • Significant experience, with at least one significant experience in new nuclear projects and project schedule engineer position.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations
  • English Level (B2 minimum as per Common European Framework of References for Language (CEFRL), C1 preferred.
  • Software skills:  skills in Primavera and Paladin required. Good command of Pack Office.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • French speaking; past experience in French companies/Groups

 

EPR-E is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.

 

The post is restricted due to the nature of the role and the export control regulations which apply. All applicants will be subject to national security and export control vetting processes
