Job description

We are currently looking to recruit for the role of Project Quality Manager based at Hinkley Point C. 

The Project Quality Manager is responsible in assisting the Quality Manager – New Build Projects in defining quality standards for the delivery of projects, ensuring quality assurance measures to guarantee those standards are met by managing and co-ordinating workload to a team of Quality Engineers, Technicians, Technical Reviewers and Co-ordinators.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance to the Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to assure continuing compliance to ISO 9001 & ISO 19443 standards.
  • Hierarchical & Operational Management of a number of Quality Engineering & Technical Reports.
  • Provide technical and quality guidance to the Quality Control department on any quality related issue.
  • Develop, review and maintain project processes for the successful implementation and completion of project quality deliverables.
  • Provide assurance that manufacturing and construction processes are efficient and up-to-date.
  • Manage the quality assurance of manufacturing/construction activities including the required NDT and dimensional checks, and its associated records.
  • Responsible for communicating with the Client (internal or external) on quality matters.
  • Provides feedback to the Project team and leaders on concerns regarding Quality.
  • Analyse and resolve process quality issues and needs as they relate to process performance and quality requirements.
  • Manages data related to KPI's and identify opportunities for improvement / Preparing performance reports for relevant stakeholders.
  • Travel to suppliers to ensure quality and process capacities are met (when applicable).
  • Coordinate monthly review and reporting of progress against the annual quality improvement plans and quality objectives to the Quality Manager-NBP.
  • Ensure compliance to the Contract Quality Assurance Plan (CQAP) / General Quality Assurance Specifications (GQAS) / Supplier Quality Plans (SQP) or similar Quality Management Plans depending on the project.
  • Co-ordinate project work in support of quality department, on topics such as: problem solving, investigation reporting, audit and governance programmes etc.
  • Prepare/review/approve/maintain project quality documentation such as: Quality Plan/Manual, Technical Procedure writing (NDT, Dimensional, Cleanliness), ITP, process procedures and instruction writing.
  •  Development, support, and maintenance of the project quality deliverables in line with project schedules. (These include LTQR / QRC / Review and update of records following client comments).
  • Co-ordinate the Approval of incoming materials by confirming specifications; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials and reviewing material certification and ensuring vigilance to CFSI requirements / Goods in/Out Procedure.
  • Assist the workshop implementation of Lean and 6Sigma & OPEX activities.

Profile

Technical Skills required: 

  • Chartered Quality status.
  • Knowledge of Quality tools and systems e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, EFQA etc.
  • Proven relevant experience as a QA Engineer
  • A good understanding of FIDIC and or NEC3 contracts.
  • A good understanding of the Project Management role.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects at one time at differing stages.
  • Experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures.
  • Lead auditor experience.
  • Sound welding knowledge.
  • Knowledge in fabrication.
  • Knowledge in installations.
  • Previous experience of working in a multinational team would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a highly regulated industry advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 19443:2018.

Qualifications: 

  • HNC (or equivalent) Engineering discipline.
  • Multi discipline Non-Destructive Testing training (desirable).
  • Visual Weld Inspection - Welding Institute Course.
  • Responsible welding co-ordinator (desirable).
  • NVQ Level 3 Leadership & Management (desirable).
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
  • Lean or Six Sigma (desirable)
  • HPC Site Induction (Done On-site).
  • CSCS Managers and Professionals Test (Done On-site)

Benefits

 Salary: £63,000 - £80,000 depending on experience (SSA Agreement)

Working hours: 38 hours per week, Full Time at HPC with the rotation of 10 on-4 off / 11on -3 off.

Benefits : 25 days annual leave plus other benefits as agreed on SSA agreement.
