The Fuel BU is a world leader in the manufacture of fuels for nuclear power plants and research reactors in the world with R&D, design and plant centers on the American and European continent.

We are introducing our Fuel project to the UK and therefore we are looking appoint a Procurement and Contract Manager

The project is under the responsibility of the Industrial and Performance Department (IPD) of the Fuel BU and benefits from the expertise of its projects unit.

Reporting to the IPD Project Manager, key responsibilities will include:

This support to the project development from design to start of operation involves:

  • Ensure the definition of standard contracts for each procurement made by the project – engineering, manufacturing, construction, materials. With respect to Framatome standard conditions, the local context and the applicable conditions like the nuclear responsibility.
  • Negotiate case by case the contract with the preferred company, with support of the technical team.
  • Ensure progress reporting of each contract, and at a project level with KPIs.
  • Manage all requests for change or claims, negotiate and ensure the definition of addendum to the contract, with support of the technical team.
  • Regularly check technical progress and ensure compliance with the contract scope of works,
  • With the project control team, check the planning progress and the cost progress and take necessary actions.
  • Contribute to risks and opportunities reviews, to provide updates of contractual matters, and to apply actions toward concerned suppliers.
  • Ensure the closing of the contract, with support of the technical team,
  • Manage compensation requests in case of disaster.
  • Ensure the respect of the warranty period, case by case.
  • Coordinate the definition of sourcing list for each procurement of the project.
  • Ensure with the procurement team, or directly from time to time, the tendering process.
  • Secure in all contracts, the respect of the project confidentiality, intellectual property and export control rules

Profile

To be considered, we will require the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Contract management, engineering or business administration master degree (or equivalent)
  • Wealth of experience in a similar role and is willing to contribute to a greenfield project.
  • Previous experience as a contract manager on projects of industrial facilities (plant and lab, reactors, manufacturing) with strong experience in contract management of projects, multi-discipline buildings and complex processes as an owner, EPCM or integrator / general contractor.
  • Fundamental knowledge of the UK context and the UK law.
  • Experience of the nuclear industry or any other regulated sector (pharmaceutical, aeronautics, etc.)
  • Agile and with a profound negotiation skill, coupled the willingness to make a difference and contribute to a project success
  • Ability to interact and work as a team and appreciate creating new contacts and networks.
  • Tenacity and objectives / results oriented are key to the success of your mission.
