Job description
We are looking to recruit a Junior Process Engineer to work on a variety of projects relating to fluid flow systems, with a focus on mixing processes in both the nuclear and non-nuclear process sectors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop his technical skills by working on a range of projects and through internal and external training.
As part of the Process Engineering team in Framatome Ltd, your mission is to deliver high quality engineering output and contribute to the successful delivery of engineering research, design and consultancy projects for both internal and external clients in a safe and efficient manner.
You will be a part of the Process Engineering team your daily responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with peers, including those involved in mechanical and process design, simulations, and the manufacture, set-up and operation of test rigs,
- Development of experimental test programmes and specification of key objectives,
- Performing experimental test work in the in the laboratory, and analysing and interpreting the results,
- Specify materials and equipment required for testing,
- Presenting results/analysis to both peers and external clients,
- Performing calculations relating to the design and operation of fluid systems,
- Producing documentation , including detailed technical reports,
- Carrying out team activities while adhering to project budgets and deadlines,
- Contributing to technical project proposals and costings,
- Contribute to the development of company quality and health and safety processes.
The key outputs of the role will be:
- Quality experimental data and associated analysis
- Presentation of engineering deliverables to internal and external clients,
- Technical reports,
- Predictions of process performance and recommendations for potential improvements.
Profile
You will be a passionate engineer committed to excellence in both safety and quality, and eager to be part of a growing team. We are seeking the following skills:
- A Masters or PhD in Process engineering or a related discipline. Experience working in industry or in a relevant post-graduate position is highly desirable,
- Advanced knowledge of single and multiphase fluid mechanics, including mixing processes, and ideally with a strong understanding of fluid rheology,
- Knowledge or experience of lab testing, data aquisition systems, programming, image or video analysis, and CFD are desirable but not essential.
- Strong analytical ability, with experience in statistical analysis and interptration of data,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Self motivated, well organised, and able to work at pace to deliver on time,
- Driven to work safely and strive towards continual improvement in this area for themselves and across the business.
