In the UK we are currently over 300 strong and our plans are to grow to 400-500 by 2025 through the development our UK nuclear service offerings.

Due to our ongoing growth in the UK, we are looking for an experienced and self-driven Lead Scheduler to take responsibility for the planning and scheduling activities undertaken across a range of projects in our portfolio.

As a young company in the UK with a growing programme of work, we are transforming the way we do project controls across the business through our Project Controls Roadmap.

As part of this, the role would be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the master project schedules for all projects within our New Build portfolio, covering works within the Avonmouth factory and Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C sites. This will involve integrating the workshop and site plans into programme master schedules and submitting programmes to our customers.
  • Using schedules to drive project reporting; milestone reporting, schedule adherence monitoring, progress reporting, Earned Value management, cost forecasting, resource demand and productivity analysis.
  • Developing schedules from scratch in support of bids, and developing these into delivery schedules once contracted, in line with customer and company quality standards.
  • Upskilling scheduling capability across the business. This will include coaching and guidance of existing scheduling resource, currently situated at Hinkley Point C, as well as other project controls staff as necessary across the business including our engineering department in Cranfield.
  • Driving improvements through implementing the roadmap, improving the quality of existing schedules, and using them in a smarter way to generate deeper insights through project controls reporting and analysis.
  • Fostering buy-in by stakeholders through being a project controls and scheduling advocate, convincing others of the benefits and insights that can be gained from good quality planning and scheduling.

Profile

To be considered and to be able to achieve the above, the following qualifications, skills and experience are essential:

  • Highly experienced P6 user, comfortable with managing several large schedules that require submission to the customer.
  • Experience with schedules that are resource loaded and baselined.
  • Experience in the construction sector and NEC contract
  • Experience coaching, teaching and guiding junior staff.
  • Experience in producing and analysing EVM reporting (Earned Value Management)
  • Capable in leading the planning process, bringing stakeholders together to develop the WBS and schedule from scratch.
  • Is able to work autonomously and manage their own workload and priorities.

 

The following experience is desirable but a great advantage:

  • Experience with fully cost loaded schedules.
  • Experience with EVM driven directly from P6 schedules.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and/ or Project Server/ Project Web App
  • Experience managing junior planners and their workload/ priorities.
  • Experience in the Nuclear sector or experience in non-construction sectors
