Job description
The IT Co-ordinator plays a key role in supporting the successful planning, governance, delivery, and continuous improvement of IT projects and initiatives. The position is responsible for coordinating project activities, maintaining delivery frameworks, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, and providing oversight of project governance processes.
Working across business and technology teams, the IT Co-ordinator ensures projects are delivered in a structured, transparent, and efficient manner while maintaining alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
Project Coordination & Delivery
- Coordinate IT projects and workstreams, tracking milestones, actions, dependencies, risks and deliverables.
- Support Project Managers and IT leadership with planning, reporting, resource coordination and delivery.
- Organise project meetings and workshops, ensuring actions and decisions are recorded and followed through.
- Maintain accurate project plans, RAID logs, status reports and supporting documentation.
Governance & Reporting
- Support the consistent application of IT project delivery methodologies, governance and best practice.
- Maintain project controls, templates and governance documentation, ensuring agreed processes and approvals are followed.
- Consolidate project updates, KPIs, milestones and risks for portfolio and management reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes and ways of working.
- Support audit, compliance and regulatory requirements where required.
Stakeholder & Supplier Coordination
- Build effective relationships across IT, the wider business and external suppliers.
- Act as a central point of coordination, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of progress, risks, issues and key decisions.
- Coordinate vendor activities and monitor deliverables against agreed requirements and timelines.
- Escalate significant risks, issues or delays to the appropriate project or IT leadership.
Project Administration
- Maintain project repositories and ensure documentation is accurate, complete and up to date.
- Support budget tracking, purchase requests and project financial reporting.
- Provide coordination and administrative support for project boards, governance forums and wider IT activities.
Profile
What are we looking for?
Essential
- Experience coordinating IT projects, programmes, or technology initiatives.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Experience supporting project governance and delivery frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities with attention to detail.
- Experience managing risks, issues, actions, and dependencies.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel,
- PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Experience within a PMO or IT delivery function.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management processes.
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project or COEDM3.
- Professional certifications such as:
PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner
Agile Foundation or Scrum certification
PMQ, PMP, or equivalent
