Job description
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.
In particular, EDF EPR-E UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.
At HPC we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
Position Overview: The Hierarchical Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of 5 to 10 engineers from Framatome Limited who are seconded to EPRE. This role involves managing the logistics for these engineers and serving as their primary point of contact with Framatome. The Hierarchical Manager will ensure that the engineers' roles align with their job descriptions and workloads, and will facilitate their professional development and well-being.
Overview of the role
Reporting to the Hierarchical Manager Team Lead, the Hierarchical Manager will be responsible for the following:
Team Oversight: Manage and support a team of 5 to 10 engineers seconded to EPRE.
Logistics Management: Handle logistics including holiday bookings, special requests, and training follow-ups.
Performance Monitoring: Organize and conduct Performance Development Appraisals (PDA) to ensure engineers' roles match their job descriptions and workloads.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the engineers and Framatome, ensuring effective communication of company updates and information.
Meeting Coordination: Organize regular team meetings to disseminate information from Framatome and address any team concerns.
Reporting: Regularly report to the senior manager and attend Framatome Hierarchical Managers' meetings to coordinate with other managers.
Profile
To be considered the following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably within the engineering or energy sector.
Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to team management.
