Job description

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.

In particular, EDF EPR-E UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.

We are looking to recruit for the role of Contract Manager.

As a Contract Manager for SZC, you will be part of the Edvance Contract Management Team responsible for the management of contractual matters relating to the Nuclear Island part of the NSA contract between SZC and the contractor, in coordination with the Consortium organisation.


You will be coordinating the contractual activities between Edvance and SZC client for a given portion of the NI scope of work, in an integrated project team. You will provide expertise on the contractual mechanisms of the NSA, advising and supporting the technical team regarding the contractual actions that are required in the frame of their activities, in a partnering manner.


You will be working in collaboration with the project team members, whether other Contract Managers dealing with other scope, technical experts, project managers or colleagues form other Project Control disciplines. You will also be working internationally, with a significant part of the stakeholders being based in France.


You will be responsible for the following:
• Contractual analysis of the terms and conditions of the Contract (NSA) to provide expertise on supported area of scope
• Implementing the set of specific project procedures for commercial management.
• Following the validation/approval of the contractual change, kick off the technical instruction and coordinates all the actors (project, disciplines…).
• Gathering all the elements constituting the response to the contractual event (technical description, cost estimates, schedule impact), and managing its handling through a dedicated contract management client portal (CEMAR)
• Participating in the preparation of the technical description.
• Consolidating the technical and commercial proposal.
• Organising the proposal review with other contributors.
• Preparing the elements for negotiating the proposal in relation with all the contributors.
• Contributing to the negotiation of the proposal/offer with the customer.
• Updating the technical description based on conclusions of the negotiation.
• Performing periodic reporting on commercial activities.
• Providing input data for the periodic project review.
• Contributing to the preparation of the amendments to the main contract on all related commercial matters.
• Contributing to the definition of Project commercial strategy and yearly commercial targets, in accordance with Project strategy and directives.

Profile

To be considered the following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:

·       At least 8 years of professional experience in Contract Management on complex and multicultural industrial and infrastructure projects (energy, construction, transportation or defence industry), with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies.

·       CIPS accreditation

·       Knowledge of risk and claims management.

·       Educated to degree level.

·       Specific knowledge of UK law and its impact upon the contractual and commercial functions.

Languages (level)

·   English: C1 a minimum
